The screen in XP used to have the top blue, etc.
My wife's having a fit abot this...... The window is now Clear across the top and looks nothing like the XP did.

Is there a way I can alter the appearance or top of I.E.?

You can easily make a global change (where all title bars have the same appearance):

• Open the Control Panel
• Click on Appearance and Personalization
• Click on Personalization > Change window glass colors
• Uncheck Enable transparency
• Click the Save changes button

(You can also change the color of the bar if you wish.)
