Solved internet explorer

Have downloaded google tool bar and enabled it but it does not appear, there is an x where it should show, pressing the x it says do I want to disable google toolbar .
Any clues to what is wrong, it is ticked in the toolbars, using Google .com

OK I looked up Google tool bar in here, found similar question ---told to download latest version (had link) --clear history and do a defrag.
done that and its now working
