Internet Pings but Does Not Load

Thats Good that you can connect to the router.

I had a brain fart and forgot to tell you to enter DNS settings.

In IPV4 properties listed above enter 2 of the following 3 IP addresses.
8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4
192.168.2.1

First two are googles public DNS servers.

So the 8.8.8.8 and the 8.8.4.4 are for DNS, right? And I put the 192...as the the default gatewsy or the actual IP address? Just making sure.

your settings before had 192.168.2.1 as the DNS server. I'm guessing that your router/modem has a DNS server built into it. You can try with just the 192.168.2.1 Then if that doesnt work try with the google's dns to see if that resolves any issues.

This is what I'm looking at. The default gateway did not get set. Open IPV4 properties and set it to 192.168.2.1

Get a snippit shot of it too

Okay lets remove the settings in IPV4 properties and change it back to auto. Then see if you get the same ip address as the netbook again.

If yoy take your netbook off they network does everything work right?

Can you get into your router/modem configuration. Go to the http://192.168.2.1

Look at your dhcp settings make sure you have a range greater than one address.

I don't have a wifi connection at the moment.

If you mean if there's more than one IP address, nope, just one IP address and one MAC address.

That helps. correct any of this if its wrong.

Your router has 2 ports on the back. one of your Internet (WAN), one for you Local network (LAN).
Only one computer is plugged into the network at a time?

If all of these are correct then you can have the same IP address for each machine since only one is actually connected to the network. Sorry I was under the assumption that they where each running on the network at the same time.

Since this is a modem you might have to reboot it when you change the PC, (this is something im not 100% sure on)

Since you stated that you reset your modem in a previous post.
Connect your PC to the modem.
open your browser and type in http://192.168.2.1
You will have to supply log in username and password. (this was probably given to you with your paperwork or you configured it yourself).

This is where I'm hoping to solve your problems. I have experienced modems like this before that you have to log back into them with the information provided to you from your ISP in order for it to connect to the internet again.

After you get in if your internet does not come back up take a screen shot of the settings and we can work through getting them configured again.

I would also suggest looking to see if your modem has a bridge mode. buying a stand alone router, switching the modem from router mode to bridge mode and connecting your PC's to the router.
