My internet connection suddenly started slowing down today. it is the first time this happened. my internet would be fine for a few minutes then suddenly start to lag for a few minutes. I checked for viruses and check what processes were running in the backround. I used speedtest and I had different results due to the spiking. My ping would shoot up to 500 and my download and upload speeds would decrease. I checked with my isp and they didnt solve my problem. I tried restarting my modem. I uninstalled things I didnt need. My isp is rogers. Im using a wired connection. Any help solution would be very helpful.

This sounds like a problem on their end.

You may find that the problems just goes away (or is gone) when you come back to your computer to read this.

Please be aware that people who work for technical support read off a screen with an unhelpful answer 99.99% of the time.

If the problem persists look on the Rogers website and try an find a known issues page we're trying to fix.

I know my ISP has one, yours probably does.
