Introduction

Hello, my name is Richard. I have been Mac free for 4 months...

In all reality I have been around many OS's through the years. From Basic on my TRS-80 Color Computer 2 to Apple II's through Mac OS 6-10, Ubuntu , and Windows 95,98 and Now I am running Windows 7.

As a former Apple advocate, I wanted to have an objective veiw. If by some miracle Microsoft made a decent product, I would not be able to stand by my Mac choice. Well, Apple isn't the same company it was 10 years ago, and niether is Microsoft.

The big issue is being horribly out of the PC loop. I have some questions in which I will post in the appropriate forum.

BTW the Apple/Adobe war was the final nail in the coffin.

there's a lot of talented experienced folk around, i'm sure you'll fit right in.

Welcome, and as I suspect, there are many like you...coming back to the land of reasonably priced hardware and *gasps* self-built systems. I know quite a few Mac zealots who ended up ditching their expensive Mac hardware after running Windows 7 for a little while.
