Well I need to know how to change my IP address quickly, like soon.
I have a WRT54G2 Router and use Bright House Networks for my ISP.

Does anyone know how to change my IP?
In the router settings I hit 'Release' and 'Renew' and I tried that in windows command prompt but it still wont change.
Help, please?

Hello,

Do you mean change the IP on your PC or your Router?

Set a static IP in Windows:
How to Assign a Static IP Address in XP, Vista, or Windows 7 - How-To Geek

If your router is getting an IP from your ISP then just restart it. It will get a new IP address.

If this doesnt help then click start>run. Type 'cmd' and click ok. In the black box type 'ipconfig /all' and press enter. Do a screen shot and paste the results in this thread. We cna help your from there.

Your ISP will control what public IP address you have. Whether it changes or not is at their discretion.
I'm just going to assume the OP was IP banned and is not trying to get around it.

If it is the router on your IP and you have been banned as logicearth has predicted, then you will need to contact your ISP.

Hello IPWNDEX...

I work for Bright House Networks and would be happy to help you with this. Before we go any further with this though I kind of need to know what happened that prompted you to make this request. It's not that I won't help you either way but understanding who, what, when, where and why insures that I give you the correct information.
