IRQ Problem

Hi,

I'll list my specs first:

mobo: asus p5kc
cpu: intel q6600
ram: 2gb
gfx: geforce gtx260
sound: auzentech x-fi forte
os: windows 7 pro 64 bit

I've been suffering with a problem that I believe is to do with a IRQ sharing conflict of sorts. When I move my mouse I hear a very faint crackly whiny type of noise, it's a tad louder when scrolling webpages and is loudest when playing games. Now I've done quite a bit of research into this and cant find any solution.

I think my problem lies with IRQ. I have 7 things sharing IRQ 16, but most notably my sound card and my gfx card. My drivers are all up to date including my mobo and chipset. I also can't move my sound card to another slot as its pci-e and my mobo only has 2 pci-e slots.

The motherboard manual itself says:
PCiE x16_1 SHARED
PCiE x16_2 SHARED

and a screenshot of my IRQ thingymajig:

So, is there anything that I could do to fix this? It's not a critical problem but it is very frustrating that I can't seem to find a solution!

Thanks

If I may ask, what makes you think you have an IRQ issue?

Just wondering....

The problem sounds like a capacitor is going out to me. It may even be one on one of your cards.

I've read people relate similar sound issues with IRQ but its quite a hard topic to find any information about. Also I should of added that playing music in itunes I don't have the issue unless I turn on the visualiser, in a game I have the noise constantly. It seems to me to be allmost like I can hear the gfx card working.

Yes, I have this same thing happening with a machine I got about a year ago. I only had a 90 day warranty, so I set out to fix it. I found (if our problems are the same, and they seem to be) that I had a bad transistor or possibly choke. There is nothing I know can be done except take it back and replace it. If you had very, very good diagnostic equipment and expertise, you may be able to replace the bad transistor on the motherboard or one of your cards. I think you're stuck with this and I don't think it an IRQ problem.

I could be wrong but search the internet on this and you will verify my findings.

Good luck. I hope this at least points you in the right direction.

EDIT: I meant CAPACITOR not "transistor"
