Solved IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL on Win 7 Ultimate Welcome screen.

I started getting this the other night when I rebooted my computer. I can boot into Safe Mode (where I'm posting from now) but I cannot boot normally. It will get to the Win 7 Ultimate Welcome screen and then get the BSOD. I have attached my minidump files. I have ran Memtest86 and received no errors.

- 64 bit
- 7GB Memory

Remove Avira, and Eset from your system.



Remove and clean any installed security software,is messed up your system.



Download and install Microsoft Security Essentials with windows firewall enable.




For your system security you can also use this Good and Free system security combination.



Finish and post back.

I uninstalled Avira, SuperAntiSpyware, and Spybot Search & Destroy (which have all been on my PC for years) but on the reboot I got the same BSOD. The only other antispyware I have is MalwareBytes. Should I remove that? Attached is the most recent BSOD minidump that was created.

Though in your drivers list you have,

epfwwfp.sys ESET Personal Firewall Driver.

epfw.sys ESET\nod32.

If you have Eset installed just remove it from your system because is the cause of the bsod\crash.

If you had Eset installed then run this tool to clean any left fragments http://download.eset.com/special/ESETUninstaller.exe


Then check in C:\Windows\System32\drivers for these drivers epfwwfp.sys,epfw.sys.


If they are still there rename their sys to old.

epfwwfp.sys to epfwwfp.old

epfw.sys to epfw.old

Restart.

Thanks for your help. The Eset Uninstaller fixed the issue.

What I find strange is that I haven't used (or had installed) ESET in probably over 2-3 years. I wonder why, all of the sudden, it started having driver issues?

Anyway, thanks a lot for the help.
