Hi folks, I am having an issue that keeps snowballing and finally to the point of no repair accomplished. I have an older socket 775 system that has onboard audio the VIA which I do not use but had to try and trace a problem with my add on creative card .. At this point I cannot get the system to finish loading and I would like to know if it is possible to use my other system win 7 pro 32 also on the same machine to access the file or registry that might be stopping the normal start up of the win 7 Ultimate 64 bit. I can access the system files of that disk. Any information would be helpful so I don't have to lose everything on the disc.

Thank you in advance for any suggestions

You can use dism++ to deal with drivers\updates for an offline system. View attachment Dism++10.1.1000.100.zip

You can use standard regedit.exe to load offline hives. Regedit > click HKLM to highlight it > File >Load Hive.

Or you can run regeditpe ( works on regular windows not just pe ).View attachment RegeditPE1.2.zip

Run it and it will find offline hives and open standard regedit.exe like this:

regeditpe1.jpg

When you have finshed, just close regedit and the hives are unloaded.

When you use a dedicated sound card you should go into BIOS and turn off the onboard audio from the motherboard. This may help so that you don't have competing devices.
