is a good idea install K-Lite Codec Pack?

ofen i use VLC to watch some movies
because some w7 can' open some files

i would like to know if it's a good idea install K-Lite Codec Free-Codecs.com : Download K-Lite Codec Pack 5.9.0 FULL, K-Lite Codec Pack 5.9.0 STANDARD, K-Lite Codec Pack 5.9.0 BASIC : K-Lite Codec Pack is a collection of codecs and related tools

there is a custom install
maybe someone could give me some advises about what install and what avoid to install

Others seem to have no problems but if you use a video editing software, codec packs can cause problems. They can overite the codecs that you already have via the video editing software often to dire effect
