Is a GTX 550 ti a good gaming card.

Yeah. I was saying I needed both. I have 5 of the same cases and wouldn't mind putting my pc I'm using now into one :)

I understand the socket 775, but do you know what socket the i7 is? Also is there any certain brand or features you would like?

It would be helpful if you made a list of things you needed as well.

So you need at least a 500w psu, LGA 775 mobo, water cooling, not sure on the hdds or ssds, and did you figure out the socket for the i7?

Pins?

The I7s are all LGA (land grid array) devices - no pins on the CPU.

I own a 550ti

I just bought a GTX 550Ti from EVGA about 2 weeks ago. It's a pretty solid card. It runs Diablo 3 on medium-high settings at a good FPS (Can't measure because I don't have a FPS measurer installed but it's very smooth, no chopping or anything) and can run Minecraft at over 300FPS with shaders and high resolution textures installed. All my Steam games run flawlessly on it, I really couldn't complain about the card. If you're looking for a card that will allow you to game pretty seriously, on a budget, this is a really nice choice. I got mine off of Newegg refurbished for $99. Can't beat that deal.

Edit: Here's my exact card on Newgg at $115 and you get a $15 EVGA gift card. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130625
