Does it cause problems to have free Malwarebytes and paid Avira premium on the same Windows 7 pc? I ask this as I seem to remember being told there could be problems, but possibly this was with the full, paid for version of MBAM (Pro??).
I run Avira Antivirus Pro and Malwarebytes Pro on my computers. There are no problems between the two of them that I can remember. Because I also have Emsisoft Anti-Malware Pro, I have MBAM Pro's real time protections turned off. Are you running Avira Internet Security Premium? If so, if Avira does have anti-malware anti-spyware modules, then turn off MBAM's real time protection modules [you have to do that in two separate Settings areas].

Hi,
I doubt either mbam version would conflict with each other
Where did you read this at ?
With any additional security it is wise to exclude each other from scanning at the same time or each other though
Cheers.

There are many web sites many forums that give differing advice concerning antivirus/antimalware programs. Thrashzone, I believe you're correct! I do over here what you've posted, and had no troubles.

Thank you Roland..
I'm not quite sure why you would turn off real time protection in mbam pro/ premium,
The free version does not provide real time protection and is the version this question is about,
You can easily uncheck auto quarantine and accomplish a better task in case a off chance mbam tags something as corruption with numerous other programs antivirus program related or not,
But as a rule reviewing found objects is a good thing to do before doing a auto removal but mbam has a very good record of false positive items,
But every blue moon a wild update is issued by mbam it's just the nature of the beast
Cheers.

Remember, I said turn off MBAM if Avira IS has similar modules.

I run both Avira Internet Security (paid) and Malwarebytes' Pro... they don't cause problems with each other, but you may want to set MBam to 'selective' start-up.
Updating anti-malware and anti-virus definitions can slow your computer down, if they're done at the same time
