Hello,

Will deleting these folders on my internal and external backup drives cause any problems?

Thank You!

These are Hidden / System folders and although you could remove these protections and delete the folders and their contents (also Hidden System, so would need protection removed), there is no real point, as they would be immediately recreated by the system.

The only reason I can envisage where you would need to remove these folders is if you had a serious malware infection that had located there. But this would need to be done in specific orders to work with the recovery. this may also be needed if you had a serious corruption in the folder contents but this is extremely rare

The folders are basically directories of all the other folders on a drive, so whilst they were rebuilding after removal the File System would run very slowly

Hi Space Cowboy,

I have not had any issues other than drivers on USB 3.0 hubs crashing my system.
How did you install the USB3 drivers?
Have you tried install the drivers using DISM?

I hope this helps!

I'm not sure what DISM is and how to use it on Windows 7. The USB 3.0 ports work fine. It is the hubs or multiplers that crash the system. Even a USB hub with a built in audio card blue screens the laptop.

Thanks
