Is it possible to edit an autocomplete entry?

I'm using Firefox browser.
I like the "autocomplete" which routinely fills in user name and password, but recently ran into a problem - on a rarely-used but important site (Doctor's surgery) I forgot my user name and password.
Retrieved user name from surgery (which hasn't changed), BUT they gave me a temporary password
Logged in - autocomplete filled it in after first character entered, as was a password BUT it isn't the "right" password - I now have to over-ride it every log-in.

So - how does one edit the stored password for this site, alternatively, delete the whole existing entry and let it offer to remember it from new?

Welcome to Seven Forums yabbadoo. Try this, when you start typing, and the suggestion appears, use the down arrow on your keyboard to highlight it, and press the Shift and Delete keys to delete it.

In Firefox, I used Tools/Security/Saved Passwords, then deleted the site entry.

That solved the problem of pre-entering the wrong password

Just tried logging in again. PW manager suggested the "user" name after the first letter, but didn't offer a password (or offer to "remember" it when entered, so I guess I'm going to play around a little more to get it re-listed.

Think there's a new password edit add-in for Firefox, I'll give that a whirl.

I'm a reasoably intelligent "user" but not a "techie" - don't really want to get into new and problematic territory Think I'll stick with what I've got, but do appreciate the advice which I know was given in good faith!.

no prob, the comments are mostly a year old and glitches have been sorted, as i said i have the paid version and have had no problems in the five years i have been using it, i know there are quite a few members on sevenforums use it also. you could try last pass
