Is it safe to delete some folders in users folder in C:

Hi, i was just wondering if i can delete the other 2 folders (screenshot below) which are default and public as i don't use them and they are just cluttering the users folder and a eyesore too. (maybe i am a paranoid :shock

Hello qazplm,

You don't want to delete those folders.

The "Ahmed" folder is the profile folder for a user account.

The "Default" folder is used to create new accounts with.

The "Public" folder is used for sharing files between accounts and network. It's a system folder, so it shouldn't be deleted even if you don't use it.

It's not clear were these are default is likely the default profile which is used when a new user is created

They would be the usual folders in the "C:\Users" folder.

Yes the ahmed folder is my user folder and maybe the default folder is needed for system that's why it's hidden but what about the public folder as i don't share anything with any user and i am the only user using this pc so can i delete just the public folder and i checked its empty (no data)?

Deleting the public folder tree will not save you anything and will almost certainly cause you issues in the future as software and systems cannot find it where it is supposed to be. I would also recommend that you switch off viewing of hidden system folders, It's a sure way to "accidentally" destroy a system
