HI All,

I am very new to all this computer stuff and need a little help.

Two weeks ago I changed my ram on my computer from 3gb of ddr2 pc2 5300 (667mhz) to 2gb of ddr2 pc2-6400 (800mhz). This was not brand new. I had no problems. Then Tuesday (6th MAy) I added another 4gb ram exactly the same brand OCZ pc2 -6400 (800mhz) so three sticks of OCZ 2gb gold edition ram [email protected]. (all used not new)

Now in the matter of two days I have three BSOD. I am guessing it is a fault with one or both of these sticks and currently running the system on each one individually to see.

All three blue screens have had different issues

ntfs.sys
fltmgr.sys
ntoskrnl.exe

I am running Windows home 64 bit edition, service pack 1

fltmgr.sys is Microsoft Filesystem Filter Manager
you may want to run chkdsk /f /r from the command prompt and see if it find any errors
also run sfc /scannow to search for any corrupted file system, since win32k.sys seems corrupting your pool:

Code:
*******************************************************************************
*                                                                             *

BAD_POOL_HEADER (19)
The pool is already corrupt at the time of the current request.
This may or may not be due to the caller.
The internal pool links must be walked to figure out a possible cause of
the problem, and then special pool applied to the suspect tags or the driver

ok I tried the sfc scannow and it got to 9% before stopping and saying windows resource protection could not perform the request operation.

I am in safe mode does that matter?

Run SFC /SCANNOW in normal mode.

Most services don't run in Safe Mode.

HI All,

First Thankyou for your time and effort in trying to figure out my computer problems, I bought my current computer from ebay two years ago (new) had no problems in that time. it came with a activiation code on the side but just read it and it says vista on it and it never dawned on me.

Now i have just discovered thanks to sfc scan now which showed corrupted files which it fixed, that infact the operating system is not genuine. So I hope with the purchase of a new operating system a genuine one my problems will go away.

once again thanks everyone i wont take up anymore of your time.
