Is my processor overclocked?

Hey guys i built my pc at christmass thanks to alot of people on this site but i bought my processor (intel i5 2500k) and it said it was over clocked to 4.2 ghz

Intel Core i5 OC Bundle - Gigabyte Z68AP-D3, Intel Core i5 2500K @ 4.3Ghz, Xigmatek HDT-S963 Cooler, 8GB Corsair 1600Mhz Vengeance - Dino PC Ltd

but when i go to my system it says intel i5 2500k 3.60 ghz? any help ? is it or is it not overclcoked? thanks

Yes and No it's what is reffered to as turbo Boost your processor is designed to overclock anytime you up the demand and then return to normal when no longer needed.

No this is only a gadget designed to show you how Turbo Boost works. After you download it will install to your desktop were you will be able to veiw a meter that shows when your Turbo Boost is active.

The CPU speed listed in Windows Information page typically will report you default clock speeds, not the OC ones.
To see your actual speed, try running something like CPUz.

You may need to start something to put a load on the system, as it will likely show power saving speeds at idle, something like 1.6Ghz. This is normal.
Once the cpu start to stress, youll then be able to see what your CPU is truly running at.

If it is OCd to 4.2 Ghz, once the CPU starts getting a load, you should see in CPUz the multipler go to x42 and the CPU core speed at 4200
