Hi,

I'm thinking about buying this graphics card from Newegg.com. I was just wondering whether the rebate will actually work. And how does it work? Do I get a certain amount of money from EVGA or Newegg.com? I've heard of cases where it takes, weeks even months for a rebate to arrive. And sometimes it doesn't come at all. So does anyone have experience in these matters?

Thanks in advance,
Jaidyn

Hi Jaidyn,

Like we discussed, it's a factory rebate, so it will come from EVGA. Yes, newegg is very trustworthy; most trusted online retailer there is. They will bend over backwards to make you happy and keep you as a customer.

Yes, the rebate is going to be slow in coming. How slow I don't know, but if it takes a while, it's not newegg's fault. Newegg only sells the card and provides the .pdf (given to them by EVGA) detailing the rebate instructions.

I've had several rebates via this method. Some have taken longer than others; none have "never" shown up. Others may have a different experience.

You only have till the 30th to fill out the forms and submit the rebate request, so get going... as in order today. We've got to meet on the battlefield! :D

As mentioned, the rebate will come from EVGA and NewEgg has nothing to do with that process.

Typically speaking, it takes 4-6 weeks after they recieve your paperwork, and have approved the rebate claim.
You can also expidite this and get the rebate in 5-7 days (I think) from the time they recieve the paperwork for a fee (deducted form the total rebate amount)

It is probably worth mentioning, that EVGA products have a warranty directly from the factory as well.
Your card will have a sticker in the box telling you if theres a problem, do NOT send back to the original retailer (In this case NewwEgg) and deal directly with EVGA.

Also, in case you are not aware, that card has a -KR skew. which means it has a 3year warranty.

if you can find a -AR skew, it will carry a lifetime warranty, as well as be eligible for a Step-Up.
StepUp means that in 90 days, if you decide you want a more powerful card, simply return it to EVGA, and pay the difference of the more powerful GPU, and they will send it to you.

If that interests you, youll want a AR model, not the KR.
Otherwise there is no difference, only in warranty and Step-Up elegibility.

I just thought this was worth mentioning because not everyone is aware of the difference betweeen KR and AR cards. Some do not care, and for others its worth the extra 5 dollars or so.

And yes, NewEgg is excellent. I deal with them often and have yet to have any issue. The few I have had, they resolved promptly, without any troubles.

Newegg ships to Australia?

No they don't. Have seen mention elsewhere of 3rd party ordering/forwarding sites that will place the order and then ship internationally though (don't remember the names).

Newegg is very reliable. It's about the only place I buy my computer parts and the like.

As far as rebates go...I don't really count on them in general. While I do get "most" of my rebates back....I don't let the inclusion of a rebate be the deciding factor on whether I buy something or not. And usually with computer components on NewEgg, the rebates are like $10 to $30...so not the end of the world if I never get them. I've gotten rebates recently from Antec, Corsair and eVGA and all were handled pretty quickly. Within 6 weeks or so. I always send them in, it's worth 10 minutes of time and a single stamp.

Speaking of Rebates

I have atleast 3 rebates pending from last year i pretty much gave up on them.

There's been a time or two when it actually came but this particular circle of rebates i put out produced nothing ,so my advice to you if you really want the graphics card get it .

Saying this cause there is always a catch in purchasing items also a bigger catch when a rebates involed ,I just wish most companies would cut that BS out and just cough the money upfront

Anyway my particular situation ,I think im going to end up contacting these companies and see what they will say to me after a fail rebate situation

I wish you luck and like i said if you really want it GET IT !

Forget the Rebate it is like a stab in the dark .
