Solved Is not Word Pad a default addition to Win 7?

Because of the price we use AOOo3.4 instead of Word. But, many other users/people we send to can't read that format when they open 3.4.

I had thought that there was a .pdf feature with 3.4, but can not find it.

My only alternative is Word Pad (WP), but I cannot find that either even though I seen to remember it was included in Win 7, but can not find it now.

Does any one think that it may have been un-installed through some fluke?

I would have no trepidation installing WP if I have to...


I do have Adobe reader, and I am going to try copying the Aoo file into it to see if I can create a .pdf file.

Okay I found WP in Start/Accessories, and I copied/pasted/saved the file into WP

I am going to wait to see if the recipient has trouble opening the AOOo 3.4 file, if yes i will send this WP file.

I looked a little closer at AOOo's file save capabilities, and found a Export as PDF function, and was able to save the file as a .pdf.

The only thing about this though is where it saved it:
C:\Users\Amln0\AppData\Roaming\OpenOffice.org\3\user\gallery .

The way I found it was typing the file name into the Start/Search box, right clicking the file, and used the Open file location feature, and it opened in Adobe Reader X .

When the recipient emailed me back I attached both the WP, and PDF to the reply, and that worked, and he was able to open both those files.
By the way, WP saved the file as a .docx file type

A little redundant yes, but he never told me what he was using to open an attached text file on his machine.
