Is SpywareBlaster messing up my browsing?

I posted about how I was having problems with websites not displaying properly. I also was getting "add-ons failed to run" warnings. It turned out it was related to *.doubleclick.net being in Restricted Sites (IE8). It was placed their by SpywareBlaster. I have hundreds (or more) websites in Restricted Sites all placed their by SB.

Even after removing *.doubleclick.net from Restricted Sites I continue to have problems with some sites being in Unknown Zone (Mixed), which is concerning because I believe my security setting for Internet won't be utilized. I'm sure it is related to a Restricted Site.

So my questions are why does SB put sites in Restricted Sites that are needed for websites to display properly? Can I safely remove Doubleclick from SpywareBlaster.

What can I do to isolate what may be causing my Unknown Zone (Mixed) issue? On the Microsoft Answers site they seemd to imply I don't need SB and that having all those sites in Restricted Sites may be slowing down IE8. Thoughts?

Don't remove SpywareBlaster! You may be having problems with Javascript in some sites you visit.

I have seen only on one computer, because of all the sites put in the Restricted Sites, had slowed IE8.

It was on a XP Pro 32 bit system.

Just as soon as I Disabled all protection in SB, IE8 would fly.

Like I said, I've only seen this happen on one PC.

I'm not going to look now but I've read that since SB puts a ton of sites in the Restricted Sites, in turn can slow down IE8.

SpywareBlaster placing *.doubleclick.net in Restricted Zones was definitely causing a problem.

Is the Javascript problem just inherent to the website(s) or is it a problem with my machine? Some websites will show Unknown Zone (Mixed) and then the next time I load it, it won't.

Do you know if when a website is in Unknown Zone (Mixed) is my security compromised? Or does my Internet Security setting (medium-high) still come in to play?

To be honest, I don't know the answer to your questions.

I use Firefox 99.9% of the time. Have been for years.

I was hoping Jacee could comment on the security aspect of websites being in Unknown Zone (Mixed). Do the normal IE Internet security settings still come in to play or is it a disaster waiting to happen?
