Is the Canon PIXMA MP250 a good choice?

Hi there everyone!

I was fooling around in a computer shop and I saw this All-in-one, I absolutely fall in love and also with the price ($78 USD!!!) I just would like to know if this device is good, I worked with a canon printe before and no problems until it died (lasted for about 3 or 4 years of no rest) it is better to know the opinion of the experts related to this All-in-one.

Cannons are generally good printers. Though I've seen a couple of people on these forums having strange issues with them on x64 systems.
I don't know if it's isolated or a sign of a software problem on cannon's side though.

On a footnote I bought a hp printer not long ago just because of the cheap price.
The paper feed on it is enough to send you into fits though. It will feed paper through and say there is no paper, or my personal favorite it will say there is no paper in the tray constantly when it is in fact full. Cleaning and resetting have no effect on the problem.

I use a Canon MX300 and before that a 250 - simply wore out! They are real workhorses and I can't fault them on anything, but don't make the mistake that so many people do and leave them turned off all the time. In order to work properly they need to be turned on for at least an hour a day and that goes for any printer.
I switched to the MX300 simply to get the FAX feature which supplements the one in Windows although it sometimes forgets the settings and answers my phone when it shouldn't, however that is extremely rare.
I print quite a bit and can't fault the quality.
As far as functioning in 64-bit systems go, no problems here. It's important to not only install the latest driver but also the Canon software associated with your model and it's readily available on Canpn's website.
Bought it for next to nothing, new, on eBay.

So I'm doing well on chasing this model? I hope that within this days I can buy it, that finnaly will help me get rid of my dual boot with XP (besides I need a new webcam too XD) and recover 15 GB of space (In which I installed that OS)

I have a Canon MP480 for scanning, copying and colour printing. Surprising functionality for the price.
BUT ink cartridge replacements are a killer price wise. That's the catch.
I suggest you look at the cartridge expense and if the printer can use the cheaper generic cartridges.
