Is there a free firewall + antivirus for Win7?

I'm a long time Comodo user, but it appears that the firewall has problems running in Win7, does anyone know of a firewall+AV bundle for Win7? Or at least just a firewall.

windows firewall no good ?

kaspersky has a beta client specifically for windows which seems to work ok providing firewall and antivirus.

I personally use windows firewall and antivir free home user edition :geek:

I have recently discovered that the Windows Firewall is actually quite good... Its just a pain to configure. Download Vista Firewall Control (free version). Makes it so much easier to use. I went ahead and purchased it because it was so good. I pass all the firewall tests at Gibson (grc.com). For Anti-Virus, I use Avast free edition.

this is the same firewall that came from windows server 2008 (the win7 firewall) and being so it is robust and more configurable than the xp or vista firewall...
whats more if combined with vistafirewall control then you have the upfront gui that it does not have...
SIW2 recommend this to a few users and i have not looked back...
although like most you have been a user of Comodo (since the oldest v2 betas... i really was searching for a good configurable firewall that was free and that was it...) before everyone praised it..;)

wished it worked in 7, SUSE for that matter though
Never fear, not everyone has praised Comodo's firewall . ;) When i tried it with XP it would not play nicely with uTorrent, so it was pretty easy to work out which i would get rid of . Apparently they fixed that problem but i much prefer my trusty Outpost Pro, anyways .

I also don't like Avast, and have gone back to using AVG. Avast's gimmicky looking, media player interface is awkward to use and very ghey looking imo.

but you see avast (the free edition )
i rarely use the GUI (as i already have already scripted the scanner for weekly scans..;)
so i usually never see the gui....
its better and gives you the freedom to do whatever you want when you want...

I got Comodo working fine now, so I guess I don't need those other ones, at least the thread will be helpful for others who want to know.

Yeah, no worries mate. Just letting you know if you didn't. And like DA says, how often do you see the GUI besides running a manual scan. I don't that much.

Using non-RAID on purpose as I find RAID to be too temperamental.
Now set to AHCI
Just go to CIS' properties before installing it. Run under Vista SP1 compatibility and as administrator. Close it and install. you should have no more issue with the network firewall in CIS.

I have been using Comodo firewall with W7 without a problem... except for the small unable to update error... otherwise it works very well... and for anti-virus I use Avira.
