Is there a Trial download version of Windows 7?

I've looked on microsoft.com sites, and I can't seem to find a place from which to download a trial version of W7 Home Premium upgrade.

Does that mean it doesn't exist (and I'm only considering it if it's available officially through Microsoft).

I guess I'm surprised they don't offer it.

I would like to see if it clears up a couple of issues on our old PC, before we take the $ plunge. We have W7 (retail, CD) on our newer PC and really like it. Is it legal to use that cd to load onto our old PC for a week to test it, as long as I don't try to activate it? If I remember correctly, if you don't activate it, it lets you use it for some period of time, then it expires. Thanks for any help!

Thanks for that. You know I did see that during my search, but when I saw it was an Enterprise version, I thought it was some special version I shouldn't be messing with.

Is it ok to try and use the enterprise version? I don't know what the differences are.

It's basically has the same features as Ultimate, but is geared more for corporations. This can help show the differences between all editions.

Any version can be a trial version. You can install any version and use it for up to 30 days as a trial. You just install it without entering a product code, just leave it blank, and use it for 30 days before it times out. If you know someone that has a windows 7 DVD ask them to burn you a copy. Even better is to make an ISO file, delete the ei.cfg file from the sources folder, and then burn the ISO. The resultant disk will let you install any version instead of being locked into the one edition.

Thanks, I have my own W7 ultimate DVD upgrade version,and will use it without entering the product code.

I did look into the enterprise trial download. It didn't let me because I didn't answer the questions correctly (it asks if you're an IT pro, or ..., or ...), and I didn't satisfy the "I am an IT pro" criteria. It's ok, instead of changing my answers, I'll use the DVD and get 30 days, instead of 90 from the download. I should know what I need within a few days anyway.

And If you want to be able to download any version, this link has them but its in the HP form. To get any form you just have to remove the ei.cfg in the SOURCES folder
