Is there a way to make office 2010 not change with themes?

I have a bunch of Windows 98 Plus themes on my computer. I like using them and the look they give on every program but Office 2010. On that, it increases the font size and spacing on the ribbon, making it take up almost twice the space with less stuff on it. Is there any way to disable "themeing" for only Office 2010?

Right click the shortcut for word/office programs you use and pick properties then under the compatibility tab check disable themes and disable scaling and hit apply then OK, you could also try just themes first.

I tried that, and all it did was make it not have Aero themes on the top. Like, it still pulls the font sizes from the theme, just not the visual style itself.

Yeah. It's not display scaling that's increasing the text size--it's the size set in the theme.

Can you take a screenshot of what it looks like, odd it should fall back to the defaults in the app since it has set to no themeing.

Any program that I've used that feature on has kept the text and titlebar size. The only that it disables is the theme engine; it makes the program use the Windows Classic theme instead of the one you have set.

Then you need to change your themes font size under advanced in personalization its the only way I guess if the office application does not use a fallback font. This will change your whole theme though is the downside.

Yeah but they also say its hard coded to the size of the windows appearance settings as well. So it will always reflect that.
