Solved Is there an on screen grid software?

I have ruler software which I can place always on top and do work below it (on another software) for aligning the measurement. Its called measure schmeasure which is good. However having a grid software is better. Does anyone know a virtual on screen grid which allows me to do anything below it. For precision purposes.

Another method would be to find a physical object like a plastic with gridlines and do work below that. Any suggestions on the kind of material?

How about, if you can't find an on screen solution, xerox a "gridded" sheet of paper onto an overhead projector sheet. Or print something similar, made in i.e. Excel onto such a sheet.

Overhead projector does not work since I'm working in front of the screen, there is going to be shadow. I'm thinking of the lines of printing something, but surely there is a translucent plastic gridline on sale right?

No idea about the plastic grid. I was thinking about taking one of those clear overhead foils, xerox a grid onto it and tape the foil to your screen. I's certainly a "quick and dirty" work around but surely better than any translucent grid.
AFAIK every construction- or paint software would have some means of producing on screen grids.
