Is there ANY possible way to change a wallpaper's resolution?

I have seen a BUNCH of wallpapers that I really want but all have a lower resolution than mine, I've been told many times that it is not possible, but does anyone know how to change a low res wallpaper to high res?

What I'm saying is, how do I change the resolution without distorting the picture?

Pretty much every picture edit soft let's you resize or resample pictures. you just have to be moderate or the outcome will be too fuzzy.

here's the simplest way to resize an image.. that includes wallpapers.. no added software needed
right click on the image file and select edit.
Select the entire image by clicking the arrow below the select button
click resize image.
click on pixels and then choose a resolution, or just change the percentages.
If you make a change you want to undo, hit control+z.

Luke,
Let's start over.............
What is the resolution of the old wallpaper and what resolution do you want?

It can be done but you will lose quality and the image will be cropped top and bottom, if the image is 1400*900 and you want it to expand to 1920*1080.

In the image below you can see the 1400*900 stretched to 1920*1080 keeping its aspect ratio, notice the border top and bottom that is what you would lose of the image.

Hope this helps!!

As Anthony states, either some cropping or stretching will take place. 1440*900 is a 16:10 aspect ratio while 1920*1080 is a 16:9 aspect ratio. Put simply, one is taller than the other.
