Hey Guys. I've been looking around to make myself a custom computer. I was wondering if you guys could say if this computer is good for my use. I do some basic gaming (Minecraft and Runescape), Average Video Editing (Sony Vegas), Very Basic Photo Editing (GIMP), I also want to always have open Firefox, TweetDeck, and Windows Live Messenger so is my RAM enough?

Specs of Computer:

Powerup ATX Mid-Tower Case
Intel Pentium Dual-Core E6500 Processor
Kingston HyperX blu 4GB DDR3 Desktop Memory
Western Digital 500GB Caviar Blue Hard Drive
Galaxy GeForce GT 430 Video Card - 1024MB GDDR3, PCI-Express 2.0, DVI, HDMI, VGA DirectX 11
1 Built in Case Fan
Coolmax CMF-1225-BL 120mm UV LED Cooling Case Fan - Blue
Vantec Spectrum PCI Fan Card with Blue UV LED
450 Watt Power Supply (Is the power supply enough?)

Also another question is my cooling cooling fans enough for my Computer to use and will a Stock CPU Fan be good enough as well? Please leave details!

Edit - I've heard the Intel Pentium is old how is that? I've gone into Best Buy and most Laptops and Desktops have the Pentium E Series I do know that the Pentium D Series is dinosaur old but is the Pentium E too? and if so why is Best Buy still using them?

Hello there, for what you want to use it, i think it's ok.

Take a look at my system specs. i have a E6500 with 4GB DDR2 800 and a 8400GS (a.k.a. the worst dedicated video card ever) and i happen to like it, despites the video card (which i'll be upgrading it someday soon)

450W for that PC is just fine. how much is the PC worth?

I have the OEM cooler and under 100% load it stays at 57ºC, idle temps about 37ºC, because i live in the caribbean so the regular temps here are between 25 - 35ºC.

If you're not an enthusiast, that'll be more than enough :D

Cheers.

Here you have the info for the E6500 processor.

Intel® Pentium® Processor E6500 (2M Cache, 2.93 GHz, 1066 FSB)with SPEC Code(s)SLGUH

Here's the E6600 (same thing but higher clocks)

Intel® Pentium® Processor E6600 (2M Cache, 3.06 GHz, 1066 FSB)with SPEC Code(s)SLGUG

The only difference besides the launch date, is the core clock :geek:

I'd say the E6600 even though it was launched on 2010, is the same processor as the E6500, launched in 2008...

My .02 cents

The thing is I can't mix up the specs of the device. It's a BareBone Kit I'll be ordering More RAM, Graphics Card, and More Fans everything else is included in the BareBone Kit so I can't really change up the processor. Oh well all I want is everything good for my use I might bump up the RAM to 6 Gigs since I like to keep all my programs open.

nono, what i meant to say in the last post was that the processor is from '08 but its older brother (3.06GHz) is from '10, so it's not an old processor.

Got a link to this barebone kit?

One thing to remember is that socket 775 has essentially been discontinued. There is still some stuff available, but if upgrading it down the road is a consideration then you would be better off looking at the lower end i3 or i5 stuff (and even those are going to go the way of the dodo now with the release, or release depending on how you want to look at it, of the new Sandy Bridge 1155 motherboards and CPU's).
