I am thinking of just running PrevX 3 as my main protection.

Am I asking for trouble or is it good enough to protect me?

Honestly I'd look for a more mainstream malware/AV solution. Symantec, NOD32, Kaspersky... Somebody like that. I will not trust my system to the lesser knowns in the industry. AV is too important!

PrevX is a well-known security vendor. If you like the software, GeorgeB, then by all means go for it. Just remember that it takes more than an antivirus software to keep your computer secure. In addition to Microsoft Security Updates and a software firewall, updates to third-part software are also needed (i.e., Adobe and Oracle SunJava). It is generally recommended that at least one anti-malware software program be included in our security arsenal. Consider Windows Defender, Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware or SuperAntispyware.

Let us know what you think of PrevX3.

Prevx is good but it can run alongside an active anti virus. So I would recommend you install any other AV alongwith it and use Prevx as a second layer.
