Is this possible?

I am able to boot from dvd via bios, that is how it uploaded all my win 7 files....it was at this point when it asked me to remove the win 7 disc and put the driver list in the dvd. when i do that it then asks me to click on the Browse button. When i do that it shows me C drive and x drive boot folder, and when i tried both of them, it says no driver found. I used this same setup year ago and had no problem then, I then did a search for drivers for win 7, copied it to a USB drive, and it still says no driver found. The problem is not being able to show where my USB driver list is, because i cannot open either system. How does one show a USB location without a system?

Is this for the Asus? I checked and they don't even provide a USB creation tool for this. Gigabyte and all the rest do. Your issue is that you need USB drivers loaded in the OS so that it can see the USB drive. You need to slipstream the drivers using DISM or NTLite.

It's a real pain in the ass when it comes to Windows 7 and new hardware.

I know I didn't say what type of hardware, new or old, but why would assume its "new hardware"? Its not new its the same Hardware , same computer that worked a year or so ago when i had to reinstall it. All usb ports were enabled in Bios. The gist of the problem is that i have no system installed, so how can i tell the 'disc' when it asks me to remove main disc and replace it with the drivers list and go to such and such a place for the drivers? I have the orinal MB drivers disk and copied a list to a usb drive, and it comes back by telling me that there is no divers. BTW, can u elaborate "slipstream", Dism and NTlite? On another note, you said i should use my system in order to use those functions....i do not have a system that is why i was trying to reinstall win 7 with its original disks

I just want to be clear. What is the make and model of hardware you're installing to?

Its a build model. that had original win 7 system
