Seem to be quite OK but it depends- are these idle temps or some apps are running? Whats the ambient temp? Does your fan run all the time or not at all? What kind of stuff do you do on this machine- gaming, photoshopping or surfing, word processing?

Intel CPUs are safe till they start hitting 90 degrees, T6400 i think is rated upto 105 degrees. Your current temps are 49 and 54 which are reasonable given your current activities. Theres nothing to worry about.

Generally, there are some standard ways to keep laptops cool if you're interested- keep the vents open, clean out any built-up dust, use the laptop in a raised position or use a chillpad, and undervolting (this last step is not for everybody).

In my experience, laptops generally run hot. However, I have cleaned dozens of laptops and one thing that I see common in all of them is that dust, lint, hair, and whatever else builds up between the fan and the heatsink. If your laptop is running a bit hotter than normal, I would definitely consider this as a probable culprit. Unfortunately, the build up is not easily removed without disassembling the laptop to a point where you can remove the fan and get at the buildup directly.

Once the buildup is removed it can be prevented by shooting some canned air into the exhaust vent about once a month or so depending on your typical computing environment.
