ISO burning

I downloaded a iso that is zipped.When burning this to dvd do I extract it first then buurn or just burn the zipped file?

Just extract the ISO. to your desktop or directory that suits you, then burn away.
If you dont mind me asking, what is in the ISO?

I don't know what it is a friend gave me a bunch of disks & this one just said ISO.When I tried to open it it said zipped so didn't know what to do.
