ISO image

Now I need to find somewhere to compare them against actual md5 checksum values from Microsoft Downloads or at least MS published.

Here's what i see for the Win 7 Pro x64 ISO (SP1) i downloaded from Digital River when they were available.
The ISO download is the X17-59186.iso

Does this help ?

First off it's next to impossible to find a Windows 7 Retail that is legal.

Retail versions were gone from the market a long time ago.

The only difference between a Retail and a OEM builders Windows 7 is the COA key.
With a Retail key you have some extra option, like being able to move the operating system from computer to computer.

As far as I know the ISO on the DVD's are the same between Retail and OEM Builders. The COA key is what is different.

*Exactly what Microsoft DVD do you have?

*Exactly what Microsoft COA do you have?

Do not post the key# just the name.

Just because you have or (buy) a retail key does not mean the download from MS will work, people have tried and failed, the only success we`ve seen and I myself have done is by using our system builder licenses, which is way cheaper then buying Retail.

You are once again correct Jack about the discs being the same, also with oem you get support from the pc vendor (unless of course you yourself bought the oem copy) with retail you get 365 days of support from MIcrosoft, but who needs that

Quick everyone, bookmark Z`s site before it gets pulled.

That makes sense that they wouldn't, those are all pre SP1 ISO's, X15-series, the ones above are X17-series.

Note the dvd_u_ in the name. That means it's the update version which includes SP1, I suspect that's why the SHA1 value does not match what is shown in the link you provided.

If i search for ed15956fe33c13642a6d2cb2c7aa9749 i get a lot of hits, seems mostly people asking if this is the correct MD5.

Here's one interesting site:
Microsoft DigitalRiver Mirror

If you click on the MSDN link in the last column on the right, it takes you to a MSDN page for that ISO.
Click on Details and it shows the SHA1 value.

I'd say they are 100% genuine and safe.

I only checked Ultimate with yours below - it is correct - presumably the others are also.:)

I don't keep all of the isos. You can save space by keeping one - e.g. Ultimate, and make deltas for the rest. The deltas are only a few kb.

PLDS DVD-RW DH16AERSH
Microsoft DigitalRiver Mirror

I decided to download from the above as I don't want to pay $200 just for the disk only to find out it won't work with my key.

Can someone have a look at the below images and tell me if the "hash" match the official iso so I can be certain its not a dodgy copy.

Also can you please confirm I have download the correct iso for Windows 7 Pro 64Bit Retail English.

Just a final quistain I noticed during the downloading utorrebt showed a different hash id, is that just a temp one?

Also I have not burnt it to dvd yet but was wondering would it still show the correct hash if the file is corrupted? I am asking as I was having internet issues during the download.

Compare it to the sums in post #33 above.

No, the hash will be different if there is any change to the ISO, corruption or otherwise.
