Solved ISO problems! Help!

I've pretty stupidly mounted an iso on my computer with MagicISO, and uninstalled the software, forgetting the iso was still mounted. I now can't unmount the iso, or delete the file, or eject the drive. I've also tried reinstalling the software and pressing unmount all, which failed.

Any ideas on how I can get this thing unmounted? I'm guessing safe mode to delete the file involved? But don't know if this will work or create more problems than there already are ;D

Sorry, Alex, but I had to laugh when I read this.
It certainly proves that a person's actions can't always be predicted by the programmer!

I'm sure there is a registry entry that needs to be deleted. I use MagicDisc (by the same company) and it works fine for me.
Tried MagicISO once and can't remember why I didn't like it. Too long ago for my old mind.

OK- enough rambling.
I would open up regedit.exe and do a search for the ISO file name that you mounted. Or you could do a search for magiciso as well. Check the Keys, Values, and Data.
Be sure to backup the registry branches at the very least before doing any deletions.
Once you've found all instances of the file in question (there may be more than one), re-boot your computer.

You also want to be sure that Windows is not trying to start MagicISO at boot time.
Open msconfig.exe to see if it's listed in the start up tab. If so, disable it.

Hopefully, that will take care of it.

It's a starting point, at least.

Here's a tip:
You don't have to have MagicDisc start at boot time in order to mount the ISO of choice.
Run the utility, mount the ISO, then disable MagicDisc from running at boot time.
Your ISO will still be available until you dismount it.
It's one less icon in your system tray, and you always have the ISO available to you.
I keep Elder Scrolls Oblivion mounted that way. I can play anytime I want and don't have to mess around with discs.
