I went into C:users\my user\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs

and added a new folder, then placed a shortcut in the new folder (the new folder was named something other than "new folder"). To my surprise, this change was not reflected in the start menu. Instead there was a "New Folder" (named such) and the shortcut was still in it's original location (immediately visible when clicking "All Programs" in the start menu). Right clicking both the shortcut and new folder shows them to be 0 bytes and attempts to delete both item are met with:

This is no longer located in C:users\my user\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs. Verify the items location and try again.

After receiving this message I went back into windows explorer, deleted the new folder I had created and restored the shortcut to its original location. However, I still have the "New Folder" in the start menu and I'm unable to delete it.

Please help, thanks very much
