Issue booting, errors say it is a bad driver, but I don't know which.

System recovery was the first think I tried, it did not do anything. I left the computer sitting and it re-started. It then went into safe mode correctly. I opened up a de-frag program and anelized the dist that way, there are no curupt sectors.

Try updating your chipset driver off the Dells website . That should fix your USB issue

Unfortunatly, I lack a usbstick largenough to make into a bootable drive, and My powersuply can't run the cd drive and the rest of the computer at the same time. I have a disket drive, but they are too small

That's going to be an issue . Does our computer have a builtin diagnostic software ?

:tip: If you could login to SafeMode try to disable the devices one at a time in device manager and restart to see what device is an issue .

not that I know of. I am sory if I contradict myself alot, it is booting into safe mode, but without networking, and I have a 256MB stick to move files over, but nothing bigger that I can find (they are at school)

256MB is good big enough to move driver files over from a working PC to the non working PC .

Try this

As the computer boots, press <F12> when the Dell Splash Screen appears.

When the Boot menu appears, highlight the Boot to Utility Partition option, or the Diagnostics option and then press <Enter> to start the 32-bit Dell Diagnostics.
Press the <Tab> key to highlight Test System Press <Enter> to continue to 32-bit Diagnostics.

Express Test will run a quick test of devices in the system. This typically can take 10-20 minutes.
Extended Test performs a thorough check of devices in the system. This typically can take an hour or more.
Custom Test used to test a specific device or customize the tests to be run. Exit to MS-DOS will exit the diagnostics to a command prompt.
Symptom Tree. This option lists the most common symptoms and allows you to select tests based on those symptoms.

I can't the usb stick has 244mb of free space when formated FAT32.
I don't have many files on it that are worth saving, I have an external HD that I can cart them onto, then nuke the drive with ccleaner are re-install windows. do you have any more ideas on how to fix it before I get a clean os?

When you press F8 and on the Advanced Boot Options screen you press enter on Safe Mode with Networking what happens does it have a black screen with white text going down ?

Yes it dose, it ends on an AVG related thing, the same one it ends on when starting up normally, but then it stoppes indefinitly

I am terribly sorry if I sound like a fool, but I have lost hope in fixing my comp, and there is only a few file that I would want to keep, and I am copying them away right now. I am abusive to my computer, and very dis-organized, so this will be an opportunity to fix all of the mess I made.
