ive had this issue for a few weeks now, im running on wireless. the internet speed seems to be up and down with no real rhyme or reason. i called the isp and they said theres a device on the network taking up 100% upload bandwidth, but i dont think thats the case. im currently checking all devices on the network to monitor usage, just figured id hear some input for something else i should look into

It could be someone hackiñg I to your wireless you should be able to see who is connected on the router another router close by on the same channel would kill your connection

1, 6, or 11 only! 8 interferes with both 6 and 11. The width for 2.4 Ghz should be 20, but auto or 20/40 is acceptable.

Have you logged into the router and checked the logs for unusual activity? If outgoing bandwidth is still high and no unusual connections, shut off devices one at a time until you identify the offending device. Check running processes on that device. Scan for malware with tools from malwarebytes.

i honestly still dont know what the issue is, seems like the problem has cleared up since i switched the channel to 1. it still occurs but it happens alot less. everytime it does happen, i check the one wired pc's connection and it seems to be fine. my best guess is its the router's wifi antenna is dying or environment related between the router and the pc

Changing the channel, while better for overall throughput ,would not hog up your bandwidth.
Try changing the password on your router in case someone is hacking in.
Change the password on the SSIDs too to something complex. Use alpha, caps and non caps, numbers and special characters.
Check the logs on your router for activity and see which pc it is coming from, and where it is going to.
Scan your PC with Malwarebytes anti-malware (free).
Down load and scan with AdwCleaner (free), also from Malwarebytes but recently purchased from another vendor. Malwarebytes | AdwCleaner

There are other good cleaners on market but I like these two best.
You should also scan your PC with your Virus protection.

If you suspect an issue with your router, I would also reboot it. This fixes quirky things sometimes. Make sure it doesn't reset your password to the default.
