I have windows 7 professional 32-bit in my laptop. I did a partition on my hard drive and I installed windows server 2008 in it as a dual OS. After the installation, when I restart my computer, it is not giving me option to select the available two OS and directly starting up windows server 2008. What can I do to get the options to select the available OS on system boot up?

Download EasyBCD and use it to create a boot loader - this will give you the option on boot. :)

I can only install it on win server 2008 right now, as it is the only option I have. Should I go ahead and install on win server 2008? Just installation of EasyBCD does the work or should I do some thing else?

When you are ready you can use either easybcd, or bcdedit to modify the boot loader. Here are the instructions for the later. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/2676-bcdedit-how-use.html?ltr=B

I can't see windows vista/7 option in "Add/Remove Entries=>Add new entry=>Type". I can see windows vista/Longhorn, windows NT/2k/xp/2k3 and windows 95/98/ME. What should I select in these?

You have to download Easy BCD 2.0 because that is the version that supports Windows 7. Because it is still a Beta (dont worry it as stable as the previous release) you have to download the program from the developers forum. You need to register before you can download.

I downloaded the Easy BCD 2.0 and I Added the new entry. Now, when I restart my laptop, I can see the boot menu, but, here I got a new problem:cry: When I select win 7, it is showing me an error "Windows cannot verify the digital signature". What does this mean? How can I get over it?

HURRAYYYY :party: Its working. Every thing is normal now. Thanks a ton. I have been trying to solve this issue using google from the last 2 days, but invain.

May I know the mistake what I did in installing Win Server 2008 on Win 7 and also why does this occur and the solution you gave to me? It helps me to resolve the same issue when my friends encounter it.

One last question. Can I now uninstall Easy BCD on my server? Once again, Thanks alot.

They can use that file - it only works if the 7 drive letter is D from the o/s you are currently booted into.

It's because 7 is more recent than server you are using - it doesn't understand the digital sig of 7 winload.

You can unistall Easybcd if you like. Not sure why you would want to. It is only small and only runs when you want it to. It may be useful.
