Issue with wireless driver

Thanks the hotfix done the trick for me,

Unfortunately I already tried the page you sent for the touch pad before and had no luck, guess that asus and MS didn't bothered to make win7 version of that driver :/

I should be happy it only the touch pad though, but part of me keep want to make it work for the sake of using it when I don't have mice nearby

You're welcome.

We're not finished yet.
Did the touchpad driver install but not work, or did it refuse to install?

Try installing the generic PS/2 Mouse Driver, it will usually give you basic functionality (if it works at all).

As you have an Asus, (note mine is currently running W10 but the drivers PRE date W10 but are required for Touchpad operation)
you will need the following,
They are NOT machine specific you could most likely get them from any Asus comps homepage

ETDWare ps/2 x64
ATK package
Asus smart gesture

Note once Elan (ETD) is installed, it gives you the option to Turn-Off touchpad if a wi-fi mouse is present/plugged in

Try installing the

The asus SmartGesture was already installed but didn't do a thing to make the pad work, any win7/win8 version of the driver won't install or will not work.

By PS/2 Mouse Driver you mean the driver I can find by updating the mouse driver and keybord? I already did it and no change.

I have ATK package and Asus smart

ETDWare ps/2 x64 driver? all the installers I found don't works and claim they currpted

there's a few win7 touchpad drivers on this asus page, no idea if yours is there but check it out...

https://www.asus.com/support/Download/3/398/0/2/ClEInATJ2TZos1hm/30/

All the win7 installers of the touch pad won't work, they will tell me I don't have the right hardware

Now if it makes any difference my Asus ROG laptop needed a BIOS update before I could install 7 drivers and for what it is worth I wouldn't put any Asus fancy software on my machines after issues I had with the last build.

To be clear, were you able to force the installation of the PS/2 mouse driver for the Unknown Device (Touchpad) using the following steps?
1. Update Driver Software
2. Browse My Computer for Driver Software
3. Let Me Pick from a List of Device Drivers
4. Uncheck Show Compatible Hardware
5. Select Microsoft PS/2 Compatible Mouse
6. Ignore warning about incompatible driver and click yes

It may be necessary to extract the various touchpad driver installers (I like to use 7-zip) and use the steps above (using the Have Disk option and browsing to the extracted files) to force the installation.

Yea after you mentioned it the first time I tried updating the bios to the last version, no luck though

I tried something else till I read your commit, then tried it,still no luck, I also tried to tell it to install fom disk and direct it to the asus driver folder (since the asus installtion didn't had much to offer), I look into note that notice which driver work with what hardware and choose the one that suppossed to work with mine (they have it for win7 appreantly as well there) and still no luk :/

Yes, use the steps I outlined above, including the Have Disk option, and browse to the x64 folder in the extracted files.

When we "force" a driver installation, it's because Windows doesn't recognize it as correct or compatible. Did you actually install the driver (despite Window's objections)?

Unless another driver candidate shows up. My searches have not found any so far. I suggest going back thru all the drivers in this thread and confirming that you've extracted the installers and attempted to force the installation.
