Hi.

I have a Belkin USB Network hub.

Works like a dream on Windows XP.

Now I have it on Windows 7 Ultimate 64Bit.

Works ok when installed. After reboot it doesn't work anylonger.

Firewall is switched off.

What could be the culprit ?.

It's the F5L009 one.

Wnated devices is seen when W7 starts up, but can nor connect.

Could be homegroup and IPv6. Both are for homogeneous win 7 envirnments only. Create new network based on workgroup model. When up and running you can disable IPv6 and homegroup

Hope this helps

Possible solutions for your problem in this thread. This is definately a driver or firmware problem.
Thread about this problem here at this forum.>> http://www.sevenforums.com/network-sharing/2821-belkin-network-usb-hub-f5l009.html

The thread above is talking about your problem and there may be a new driver available for your hub. It says he solved it but you will have to see for yourself. There are also links to the Belkin driver site here. http://en-us-support.belkin.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/511

I have had a look at the links you folks have sent me, thanks you.

But unfortunately nothing helps me.

I have also asked Belkin, but so far they have not stuff for Windows 7.

Curious it is, that a friend of mine that almost run the same set up as I do have the Belkin HUB running just fine on W7 Ultimate.

I really wonder why I cannot get it to work.

Mine is working nicely just after the set up, and I have checked the exception in the firewall, and to be sure also have switched off the firewall to no avail.
This issue is just very boring :(

The only fix for your problem is in the first link I posted. He got it working somehow so I would read that one over and try to make it work. I worked at finding the solution for over an hour so hopefully it is appreciated.

@chev65
Yes I do appreciate very much your offer. Would try to NAT, as I know the IP of the USB HUB, but what is the ports to be set in there ?

This hub has an IP? is it a hub or a switch or router?

What I talk about is not a 'normal' hub or switch, but my Belkin USB Network HUB connected to my LAN VIA a Netgear switch. And yes the Belkin has got its IP from the DHCP.

Has it completely stop working?

I would think when you reboot your devices, there is an order that you should do it in. I'm not saying this is 100% accurate but i've heard that if you have a modem to router, shutting down say a modem before the router (or just not shutting down the router) would render conflicts of IPs been routed. In this instance the modem needs to gives the router an IP to route so if it hasn't (during reboot), the router might not refresh etc.

Hi :-)

If you mean the way I reboot the WAN LAN devices, I never do it. What I have is a ADSL router with built in IP-Phone hardware. It's Zyxel one P-2602R-D1A. About the IP, I can tell, that whatever crazy things I have done, the same IP always has persists.
Well, and I really doubt, that it has something to do with the WN LAN gears. It is something that has arrived with Windows 7.
I have installed lots of Windows XP's during the time, and always I just have had to install the Belkin box and after it has worked.

What I have tested is uninstalling my different cleaning tool, and I think I had an overview of what could have caused the issue, but again I'm confused. I have uninstalled Ccleaner/JV16/Superantispyware, and will do it again to see if I can get a pattern of what causes it, because I have in my mind, that it's maybe a registry issue or conflict of some sort.
But as mentioned it IS Win 7 related.
And Belkin is not of any help unfortunately.
