Issues with iTunes

iTunes is really starting to irritate me now. Upon first start-up , iTunes runs perfectly and performs how it should. However when I close the software and attempt to open it again nothing happens. I then go onto task manger and end the iTunes process. I then again try to open iTunes and as soon as it opens it freezes, leaving me no option but to close it (again with task manager). Any advice?

Do you have a specific need for itunes I/E syncing iPods?
If you use it mainly as a music library for the PC, it might be worth looking into Zune. Ive found it it far less problematic and much more user friendly.

If you do have need for it, I would try what bru sugegsted. uninstall it, restart, then install a fresh copy and see if it helps.

I have unistalled/reinstalled it, I even deleted all the current music files I had on the PC (have them backed-up). Unfortunately, iTunes is a necessity for me as I do have to sync it with my iPod Touch which is a shame as I do prefer Zune myself.

One of the PCs here runs iTunes. Sometimes it would work good, and other times hang up on launch.
it has been awhile, but I think what I done was disable the check for update option. if I recall correctly, and could be mistaken, thats what was causing mine to hang at launch on occasion.

The downside is youll have to check for and update manually. But it seems to have worked out so far for me. But I must admit, I rarely use it because I use Nero or just manually add music to the iPod. :(

The issue has been resolved! iTunes again showing its flaws with a problem with their end, not mine. I need to end the process APSDaemon.exe for it to re-open successfully. Others on the Apple forums have experienced this issue also.

I recently bought an upgrade from the original iPad to iPad 3 and I was told that migrating the data from my old iPad to iTunes so it can be restored and loaded on to the new iPad. I was told this will be a simple process just back the data up on to my PC desktop which runs on Windows 7 Professional then just plug the new iPad into the PC and it would restore all the data to the new iPad. But alas, I can't see any back up options. All iTunes wants to do is synchronize. Am I missing something? Since getting Windows 7 I have been very unhappy not only with respect to iTunes, but other irritating issues. I had no problems with Windows XP but now it is a daily battle for one reason or another. Any advice on changing back to Windows XP? Thanks for your advice.

If you're wanting to put XP on it instead, you'll have to format your Windows 7 partition, and do a clean install.
