Issues with themes after using TDSSKiller
Hello, I am new to these forums just asking for a bit of help here.
I am on Windows 7.
A few months ago, I ran a scan with Kaspersky's anti-rootkit program, TDSSKiller. It worked well, but I think it deleted my themeservice.dll file. As a result of this, I am stuck in Windows classic mode (Not to be confused with Windows basic). When I go to my themes in personalize, everything except the classic ones are blocked.
I've tried scanning, making use of my backup .dll, downloading new themes, yet none of them have worked.

The
Desktop Window Manager Session Manager and
Themes Services need to be set to
Start and
Automatic .
You must be have
True Color (32 bit) set instead of High Color (16 bit).
The
desktop composition and
Animate controls and elements inside windows options enabled in
Visual Effects .
Still not working?
You could do a
repair install
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the post.
The theme service doesn't seen to show up in the list when I follow that guide. Visual effects changing doesn't seem to work either.
A repair install might work, but that is kind of the last thing I'd want to do.

Welcome to the Seven Forums
You didn't say what kind of scan you did but do the following:
Do Option 2 of this tutorial
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html it will not harm any data or programs you have installed it will try to find and repair any corrupt system files that you have. You may need to do this up to 3 times with a reboot after each scan.
The repair install that johnsmith45jock suggestion will not harm any data or programs you have installed so it is safe.
