Issues with wired Connection

I have a windows 7 Ultimate 32b in a core duo 4.4 ghz, 4 gb ram the network adapter is an atheros 8132, the issue that I am seeing is that everytime I boot I cant reach internet, I have to disable/enable the adapter to get a valid IP instead that limited connectivity, any Ideas? I've searched over all the forum without luck...

HI there, it was a known issue with windows 7RC beta. I hope you are using the final release and not win7 beta. open cmd and type netsh winsock reset catalog and press enter. Open device mgr and uninstall the network adaptor. Then reboot your pc. See if it works.

This happening to me as well

I'm running Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit. I sometimes lose my connection and have to shutdown and restart to get my internet connection back. Stops working for no apparent reason. I disabled and enabled connection, which sometimes works. The other weird thing is it looks like it's connected. Is this a known issue?

Yes this is a common problem and usually relates to the eithernet driver or it can also be a router problem. Changing the driver or updating the routers firmware usually will fix the problem. You can also try doing what Denish said.

I was able to run the command successfully restarted, reinstalled buy itself, and it worked only once, then the same issue.

I tried to upgrading the Network driver, restarting and issue continues...

i have windows 6.1 build 7600

I am using an Atheros wireless inbuilt card also on my laptop (but different model no.) and experience no problems -- as others have said, could this not potentially be an issue with your router? Which router/modem are u using?

I'm using ATT-router, which is a 2-wire gateway.

I contacted 2wire, the maker of my router and they say nothing is wrong with router, it should be fine. UGGH! I did try one other thing and I seem to be doing much better. I went to Control Panel/Hardware and sound/ Device Manager
then to Network adapter right clicked on my adapter went to properties and in the Power Management tab, I had "allow this computer to turn off device to save power" checked. I unchecked and I seem to be better, it's happen way less, I get a problem once a while now not every day.

Is AT&T your internet provider? If so, call their help line and ask for technical support. They were able to resolve a problem I had when I first got their 2-Wire router. The talked me right through it.

I would try to input static IP address into your computer.

Or lets see what kind of router you have...

May we have your routers:
Make Model Version and Firmware Version.
