Guys,

i have a few issues which have just recently occurred , I dont think they are related as they have been at different times.

Issue one:

My monitor sometimes wont display my desktop when i turn it on , its not every time just certain occasions , I hear the windows jingle but no display , i have to unplug the power cord to the monitor or even sometimes reboot the machine. I have a Dell Ultrasharp U2711 connected via display port at 2560x1440 using a Radeon 7970.

Issue Two.

I just recently re-formatted my pc to do a clean install of win7 Ultimate , Now when i boot up and after the diagnostics screen is done it halts and asks me two select what operating system to use the options i have are two Windows 7 options???????????

Issue 3.

I have just installed ( yesterday ) a seagate barracude 3tb Hard Drive to my rig ( my Mobo has it can take 3tb+ HHD ) , booted up with no issues , Windows recognizes is it around 2.7tb which is fine , so i transferred some movies across to it , about 1tb worth , when i next rebooted i got a MBR1 error and was told to insert a floppy , After tinkering around with the bios , ie removing my overclock from 4.5 to stock it started to boot into windows , but the system felt really sluggish. Now every time i reboot it takes for ever to load , when it displays "loading windows............" i get a blank black screen with increasing "............... " til the dots get half way across the screen then it boots.

Any ideas??

Thanks

I "dig" your user name, get it DIG!!!

Ah well, I can give you a solution to 1_

I had exactly the same issue whenever I plugged and unplugged in Dell UltraSharp, which is connected by DisplayPort. When I connected and disconnected I heard the familiar Windows sound - the one that you get when connecting and disconnecting a USB device!

Low and behold I put the issue to the forums, and got all kinds of responses, that didn't help me find a solution.

IN THE END THE PLUG WASN'T PUSHED IN HARD ENGOUGH.

Nobody ever says really force both ends of your DisplayPort cable into both the graphics card and the monitor. In my case the cable wasn't pushed into the monitor hard enough.

Once I made this discovery I disconnected my monitor, got some wire cutters and chopped out a bit of the plastic ("casing") around the port - which then made it easier to insert the DisplayPort cable all of the way.

USE (THE) FORCE!!!

Good Luck,

Cheers
