In September 2010, Airbot started this thread:
The unofficial guide to installing iTunes 10 without bloatware - Windows 7 Help Forums
It links to a 2010 and also a 2008 piece by Ed Bott on CNET. Back then Ed Bott convinced me to uninstall iTunes. From time-to-time I've since seen instances where it might have made life 'simpler' for me.
Six-and-a-half years is enough time for changes, good and/or bad to have impacted iTunes (now iTunes 12.6...)
Has anything changed to make the installation of iTunes 'friendlier' on a Win 7 PC? Do all his suggestions still apply? Are there 'clever innovations' developed by Apple that might 'slip' some of the co-installed programs past Ed Bott's suggested fixes?
thanks
