iTunes won't recognize my iPhone!

So I have an iPhone 2g. Yes the original iPhone, a friend gave it to me. I connected it to my mom's mac, everything works fine, and it works fine with pretty much every computer I plug it into, mac or windows. It syncs and everything.
But when I plug it into my laptop, it's a Windows 7 Ultimate x64 Toshiba Satellite L505, it comes up in windows explorer as and iPhone, but does not show up in iTunes. I have tried everything. Starting iPod Service, turning on Bonjour, i got an old iTunes version, but nothing works. I DID manage to get it for a little bit. I just messed around with all the itunes services and managed to get it to work and I was able to add music and my apps and stuff. Then the next day I restarted my comp and stuff, now it's back to not working. I need to be able to sync my iPhone with my laptop. Any help people?! Please.

Hi there, you'll need to remove iTunes and related components from your PC and restart your PC.
Remove the following items:

1: Apple Application Support.
2: Apple Mobile Device Support.
3: Bonjour.
4: iTunes.
5: Quick Time.

Then restart your PC, download and install the latest version of iTunes from Apple - iTunes - Download iTunes Now
It must work.
