Hai

Im not really sure this would even go here but I thought maybe someone here would know what I can do.

iTunes (yes I am REALLY looking forward to my contract being up so I switch to Android) always seems to make the "My Music" directory every time it launches. I went into its settings and told it to look for my music at raevyn/audio/music and it does load it all in but, My music is still created.

Is there some way to prevent this? Maybe some registry setting?

Please clarify what is happening Raevyn. You're saying iTunes iTunes makes it own directory?

hm.. okay well you know how your user directory has My Music in it? well I arrange mine differently (plus I hate that "My" part because it just feels way to dumbed down to me)and I delete it. but when I start itunes, it gets recreated. My music files are actually in a completely DIFFERENT directory but it continues to recreate My Music for its settings. Winamp and mediamonkey do not make it.. only itunes. Did that make more sense? If not maybe I can post screenshots on here somehow?

For me, I have placed iTunes on a completely different harddrive, and set to install songs on that different harddrive, but it still links back to my "my music" folder as you say. I believe this to be a Windows issue, and not an iTunes one as I'm positive another player such as windows media player (if you installed songs on it) would also link to that folder. Windows will recreate it if you delete it. However, I believe there is a way to make another folder the official "my music folder" with whatever name you want to call it, But I myself tried and failed, it messed everything up and songs went every which way.

Someone may know the trick. I almost wonder if you can't just rename "my music" to something else. Might as well try it.

I found a link that might just help ya bro, try it out. All I did was google it: How to Move the My Documents Folder

works with "my music" and most other things, just don't go moving system files around or anything
