Java.. Win7 x64.

I've been trying to install both 32 and 64bit versions of java and every time I try everything stops responding. Java is the only program that I'm having trouble with.. any ideas?

I've tried saving it and running it as an admin.

. Can you elaborate. Does the install stall, or are you able to complete the install, then cannot do anything on the PC.

I'm assuming you can't install, that the install starts then never completes? Do you have Java on the system at all now?

How do I test whether Java is working on my computer?

If not, and the install is freezing your PC. With both installers downloaded and saved to your desktop, boot into safe mode and try to install them in safe mode. If my assumptions are wrong, or you are unable to install in safe mode, post back and include as much descriptive information as possible (including exact wording of any errors you might get).
