Join and Cut MP3s

Hi,

I was looking for a simple program which will let me cut up and join MP3s, for free. I thought it would be simple to find a program which would do that, but I'm failing miserably.

Does anyone know a free program which will do that? I basically just want to take some solos from different songs and join them.

Not free, but Sound Forge is excellent for this.

Free and excellent would be Goldwave.

Google for "MP 3 Direct Cut" as a phrase. It will allow you to edit mp3 directly. I'd guess it works OK on Windows 7.

Audacity is another option, but it is a full-featured recording/playback/editing application and not limited to mp3s.

Hey guys, thanks a lot for all the programs you've mentioned. I tried Goldwave, but I think I'm gonna stick with MP3 Direct Cut, just because it's extremely simple and does exactly what I want it to do.
