Cut and paste problem

Windows 7, word 7 and IE11, I don't know if this is a user problem or windows problem. I am sure I have been able to do this before. I want to copy part of a word document or part of an outlook.com email and put it in a new folder that I created. I have been trying to cut and paste. I highlight what I want to copy. Rt, click and the list of options pops up. I hit copy( cut and paste are there but they are greyed out). I go to the folder I created and right click. A list pops up but paste does not appear. I tried dragging and dropping. Would not work. I can drag and drop photos. Is there something wrong with Windows or with me??? Thanks

Hello Moisheh,

I am not able to do that on my computer.

However, I had accomplished similar by 1) Highlight Text and Copy 2) Open Folder 3) Create New Document in Folder (via Right-mouse click) and 5) Open and Paste clipboard into New Document.

Maybe that is what you did?

Thanks; Does not work for me. When I right click in the folder I created the option is for "new folder". But when I paste it only puts in the first word. I am positive that I have been able to do this in the past. I often cut and paste info for forums or for an email. But not now.

Have you tried the menu options to cut/copy/paste instead of the right click context menu?

Thanks. The menu options do not exist with Outlook.com. They do exist in Outlook Express but when you open up a desktop file to do the paste it is greyed out. If you right click the desktop file there is no paste option. I haven't tried Gmail but I don't think it has any menu options for cut.

I have gmail and I haven't found any in the app just copy in the context menu.
