Jump lists show wrong file types?

Hi all!

I've just recently began to use the jump lists more and more. In general they work fine but I use VectorWorks and I imported a .pdf into the application. Now the jump list only displays that imported .pdf but not the .vwx files native to that application. I'm pretty sure the jump list worked correctly before the import, but since I've come to rely on them just recently, I can't be a 100% on this.

How could I fix this and make the jump lists display the correct types of files? Just opening a native files with VW doesn't work as they do not become "recent files". I'm at loss here.

Hi, try this, Type in associate Into the StartMenu Search and go to Associate a file type and see if you can do it from there.

Both Adobe Reader and VectorWorks open their respective formats correctly. It's just the VW jump list that is wrong.

Jump lists are part of Windows, not part of VW. VW if fine except I can't see the recent files via jump lists. There is only one recent file and that file (.pdf) is not associated with VW. It used to work fine but now Windows has messed something up and believes if must show .pdf files in VW jump lists while file associations are intact.

Ah, I misunderstood, Try to see if your program has all it's defaults for the files that it uses
Type in default, and it is at the top of the menu page, have a look in there.

You mean this "set default programs" entry? Neither Adobe Reader nor VW is listed there. I can see only a small selection of my installed applications there.

What program does it show that is the default for .vwx in the Associate file window that you looked at first.

I'd also include the jump list screenshot but since I removed the .pdf from the list to see if that had any effect, there'd be not much to see on that.

Jump lists are part of Windows, not part of VW.

But Windows gets the information for the Jumplist from the application.

Try clearing out the recent files: Right-click taskbar > Properties > Start Menu > Privacy > "Store and display recently opened items..." uncheck > Apply > recheck above.
